New bag!

Oh my god. This bag is the prettiest thing ever!! Its vintage, has shiny bits and it was cheap! I love the old fashion clasp, the detailed beading and the beautiful soft pink velvet. As soon as I saw it I was like right your mine! I got it in a vintage shop that has just opened in Hurstpierpoint, I thought everything would be far to over price but actually it’s rather cheap! Example my bag which I got for £12! Yes £12!

The only bad thing about this bag is when I was on my way back to get it I tripped and fell flat on my face just like a cartoon and so I now have painful and bloody hands, knees and feet! And my thigh is scratch too! So glad no one was around to witness this. But the bag was worth it.

Braided pizza!

I’ve always enjoyed cooking but feel I don’t do enough of it. I like to be creative with as much as I can in life and food is no excuse, so when I stumbled upon the concept of a braided pizza I couldn’t wait to try it. I found it very enjoyable to make as I haven’t make anything like it before and I haven’t made dough since I was little so I had to learn how to do that all over! I chose a ham and mushroom filling with onions and a little bit of garlic all on a bed of tomato sauce and cheese. I shared the pizza with my sister and we both really enjoyed it and I will definitely be making it again! And would recommend it to anyone as it was fun and easy.

New job!!

I am now a New Look employee! I’m really excited to start working there, training is next week and I hope it goes well. I really need to do some shopping and with my new 50% I think my newly earned money won’t be staying around for long. I’m really happy I’ve got this job I feel it’s a great next step in getting into fashion as well as Red Mutha, I just need to keep the fashion career ball rolling and not go off track and end up working in MacDonald’s!

Work experience at Red Mutha!

For the past 3 weeks i have spent one day a week working at Red Mutha in Brighton. So far I'm really enjoying it, the clothes are so interesting and all a one off design that are all comtomised by hand. So far i've helped to make the scrabble rings and some badges, helped to make punk styled shirts and i have also worked on the shop floor which i enjoy the most because i get to interact with the cutomers who are always very interesting people with a matching interesting dress style.

BESTIVAL 2011

Fancy dress?!
The fancy dress theme for Bestival is Pop stars, Rock stars and Divas mmmmm, so mnay people to choose from! At this momment in time I'm going as Florence Welch from one of my favourite bands Florence and the Machine. Her outfits arnt to over the top which is good because thats not my sort of thing, Florence tends to wear things with tassels and fringing and lots of flowing material which i love as it looks dramatic and it will be great for the festival in general!

This is a photo from the music video Drumming song by Florence and the Machine, this outfit has exessive material which is drapping from the arms and meets in the centre at the back. I have a simple black long sleeved top and black shorts so I feel that if I were to buy some sheer black fabric I could easy re-create this look! Hopfully any way. Once i had sewn on the extra material i think I will jazz the costume up by hand sewing on a selection of black jewls and beads otherwise it would be a rather plan outfit. I'm quite excited to see what the outcome woul dbe if I were to make this costume.

Another possible outfit, using the same long sleeve top and short and added a ton of fringing everywhere I think it would be pretty easy peasy to create this look. All I have to do now to to decide which one to go for!!

A simple to do board!

I like to keep myself organised, and one of those ways is to write things down. I thought this would be a lovely way to create something personal and practical at the same time. I really enjoy making my own little bits and bobs because i have total control on the outcome of them, i get to chose the patterns, the colours and so on.

Here i have made a white board using an old picture frame, coloured card and magazine cut outs. First i removed the old picture and painted the frame white. Whilst it was drying i was cutting out my images from my collection of fashion magazines. Once the frame was dry i was then able to cut the card to size and decorate it with my images. I then put the frame together and wrote out my to do list.

The board can be used for many things, such as a meal planner for the week, you would just simply write the days of the week and what meals you would have for what day or it could be used as a memo board for any messages you wish to share with others.
