Julie Arkell

I’m inspired by the work of Julie Arkell, I studied her collect for one of my projects during my fashion and textiles course, I love how delicate and personal each creature is that she has made. She creates them all by hand using paper-Mache, paint and embroidery.

I’ve wanted to create something that I could make myself by hand and then sell to a certain market. I’ve recently learnt how to knit and have made a few scarfs’s which is as far as my knitting skills have gone and I really enjoying sewing things by hand. I’m going to continue to look into objects that I could make and try to recreate them with a personal twist to make them my own.
